Furniture made of production leftover
For:

Merida

Merida is a new typology of furniture designed for Riva 1920, responding to a design philosophy that proposes an advancement of retreat, that is reconquest of an industrial artisanal craftsmanship, with the aim to control the voracious consumption and unlimited production of our contemporary society . Since wood is a renewable resource but finite, Merida has the goal of using the leftover wood from other production processes of the company. Merida represents the values of the company. Merida proclaims itself as a product of timeless longevity, showing material honesty and abundance.

The functionality of one side of the piece of furniture afects the functionality of the other side, when objects are insert in one side, the oposite convexity appears in the other side creating a new functionality.
